Create a video blog…instantly.
As someone who has lived in both TX and FL, it’s not really neccessary to be fluent, but you’ll pick up some if you spend time around people who do.

I’ve lived in Texas and now live in California and it certainly has never been a job requirement anywhere I have worked.

I live in Az. It is quite helpful to know Spanish but you can get by without it. You just can’t go to Jack-In-The-Box or McDonalds unless you Spanish.

I am not form those states. I am from MS, we have a whole lot of Mexican immigrants here working in the chicken factories and other places. I am a nurse. They come in the ER sometimes. They don’t speak English. I speak sign language. I hold up a catheter and yell in English “THIS IS A CATHETER, I AM ABOUT TO RUN IT UP THE LENGTH OF YOUR ***** AND INTO YOUR BLADDER IT WON’T HURT A BIT.” I’m smiling, they are smiling and nodding their heads all the while laughing at the stupid “gringa” nurse yelling in English holding that funny yellow piece of rubber. Then I smiling still take the ***** in one hand and the catheter in the other. Guess what instant English lessons they can sure as hell say NO, Senora, NO, not sick any more.
