no dont attempt, it may confuse them more or even offend them so just try to understand, maybe point to things and slow your english words down.

Not at all, but speak with respect. It is always acceptable that when a person is not a native of that area and trying to communicate with them by using their own language, the gesture its not insulting. Learning other languages is a noble task.

they may look confused if u didn’t pronounce the words right or may have a chance that u would say a curse word but try its alright. And take classes or online courses if your serious about spanish

No, why would they find it insulting? They wouldn’t laugh or anything. Latin-Americans aren’t protective of the Spanish (Castillan) language like the Spanish (Spain) are.
I wouldn’t bother though, you are probably helping them improve their English .
